Kia Teases All-New Tasman Pickup Truck
Kia recently released a teaser video showcasing the all-new 2025 Kia Tasman. We get a peek at Kia’s first pickup truck as it’s put through a rigorous off-road test in Alabama Hills, California. The Tasman is wearing the same funky digital wrap we saw earlier only this time the truck’s looking more impressive as it kicks up sand and dirt. The Tasman will be Kia’s first pickup truck and it’s expected to be gas-powered. The South Korean automaker hasn’t released too many details about the Tasman but this latest teaser is more than enough to drum up excitement. We’ll take a closer look at Kia’s new teaser and see what consumers can expect from the 2025 Kia Tasman.
Kia Releases Teaser For All-New Tasman
Kia recently released a trailer showcasing the all-new 2025 Kia Tasman. The South Korean automaker brought its first pickup truck to Alabama Hills, California for rigorous testing. The Tasman sports its yellow digital wrapping from its first debut as it whips up sand and dirt in the Owens Valley. In the video, we see the Tasman showing off its off-road prowess. Kia highlights the truck’s traction and clearance. Equipped with all-terrain tires, the crew-cab pickup truck has no trouble climbing a hill with 40 percent grade. As the Tasman descends a hill, a Kia engineer is heard telling the driver to switch to 4-Lo, a strong indication that the truck will feature either four-wheel or all-wheel drive.
Further along in the teaser video, the words, “obstacles are meant to be overcome,” appear on the screen. This is quite apt as the next few shots show the 2025 Kia Tasman barreling through the California valley tearing up rock and dirt. As Kia’s first pickup truck, the Tasman appears bold and striking. The pickup truck will likely use a body-on-frame design. We’re still unsure of what lies beneath the truck, but it’s likely the Tasman will share a powertrain with the Kia Telluride. The three-row SUV utilizes a naturally aspirated V6 engine that delivers 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. So far Kia has confirmed the Tasman will launch in regions like the Middle East and Africa. The South Korean automaker hasn’t confirmed it but given the Tasman is being tested in California we may see it arrive in the United States as well. For now, we’ll be staying tuned for more information.
