Kia Reveals Its First Pickup Truck, The All-New Tasman
Kia recently revealed an all-new pickup truck called the Tasman. Kia hasn’t officially debuted the Tasman, instead, the South Korean automaker showcased its first-ever pickup truck at the Busan Motor Show in South Korea. The Tasman is slated for 2025 but Kia has given consumers a firsthand look to drive excitement. The mid-size truck will have a global launch in 2025 however it is still unclear if the Tasman will make its way to the United States. Regardless, it’s good to see Kia showing its ICE lineup attention. Lately, the South Korean automaker has been focused on EVs having recently debuted the Kia EV9. Other EVs include the EV3 along with the 2025 hybrid Sorento. For now, we’ll take a look at the 2025 Kia Tasman and see what consumers can expect.
Kia Reveals All-New Pickup Truck
Kia recently unveiled its first pickup truck, the all-new Kia Tasman. The South Korean automaker has not officially debuted the mid-size pickup truck but showcased a prototype at the Busan Motor Show in South Korea. There consumers got to take a look at Kia’s first pickup truck. Kia has stated that the Tasman will launch globally however specifics have not been mentioned. A prototype was spotted being tested in California so the possibility that the Tasman comes to the United States is likely.
As far as the expectations for the 2025 Kia Tasman go, we know that the mid-size pickup truck will be a body-on-frame truck. We also know it will be gas-powered although Kia is rumored to have started working on several electric trucks. A video depicting the Tasman highlights the expected design underneath the truck’s camouflage. Full-sized side-view mirrors can be seen as well as a split tailgate. There are also integrated steps to access the bed. The Tasman utilizes a crew-cab configuration here though others may be available. The bed is also quite large despite the truck’s smaller size.
Another video depicting the Kia Tasman shows a few details inside the all-new truck. The cabin slightly mirrors the EV9 with a more aggressive design. A dual-screen display serves as the digital gauge cluster and infotainment system. The climate control system uses physical knobs. There are also memory seats and a sunroof. The truck is a double cab but, more options may be available later. While there is only limited information, the 2025 Kia Tasman looks promising. It stands to compete with other trucks in the mid-size segment as an affordable option with a unique design. Performance specs may be the ultimate deciding factor but for now, we’re looking forward to Kia’s first pickup truck.
